Chicken Breasts Stuffed with Ham
This is a favorite dish in my home. It is deceptively easy to make and will have you looking like a gourmet chef!
Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 25 minutes
Total Time 35 minutes
Servings 4
Ingredients
- 4-6 oz Chicken Breasts boneless & skinless
- 4 Sliced of Smoked Ham
- 4 oz Smoked Gouda Cheese sliced thin
- 1 C Fresh Spinach
- 1/4 C Chicken Broth
- 2 tsp Cooking Oil
- 2 Cloves Garlic pressed
- 1 Med Yellow Onion Sliced thin
- Salt & Pepper to taste
Instructions
-
Take each chicken breast and with a very sharp knife, slice a pocket into the center. Salt and pepper the inside of this pocket.
-
Inside the pocket layer the ham, cheese, and spinach. Press the chicken closed. If necessary use a tooth pick to keep the pocket closed.
-
Salt and pepper the outside of the chicken.
-
Heat oil in a large skillet over med-high heat, gently lay the chicken breasts in the skillet and sear each side.
-
Pour chicken broth into the skillet with the chicken, and cover. Reduce to a simmer and cook 15-20 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
-
Remove the chicken from the skillet; add the onion and garlic to the broth, and allow the broth to reduce by half. Stirring occasionally.
-
Serve chicken topped with sauce and enjoy!
