I really enjoy Mojitos. I experiment with all sorts of flavor combinations and this one is up there as one of my favorites. The Black Apple Mojito is great for your next Samhain or Halloween party. It is a dark and refreshing drink your guests will love.

The Black Apple Mojito
It’s just so good! I was playing around with different variations the other night when I created this gem! It is a spin on the traditional and non-traditional Mojito recipes found just about everywhere. The apple adds its own sweetness while the berries make this drink dark and delicious.
Prep Time 5 minutes
Total Time 20 minutes
Servings 1
Ingredients
- 5 Blackberries fresh
- 1 Small handful of fresh Blueberries
- 15 Fresh Mint Leaves
- 1 oz Lime Juice fresh squeezed
- 6 oz fresh Apple Cider or fresh Juiced Apple
- 2 oz Light Rum
- Ice
- Ginger Ale optional
Instructions
-
In a cocktail mixer, add rum, berries, mint and muddle with a wooden spoon or a muddler if you have one. The idea is to crush the mint and berries so they release their juice and flavor.
-
Add lime juice, ice, apple juice and shake well.
-
Strain out the large pieces of ice and fruit or pour everything into a tall glass and ENJOY!!!
-
Garnish with berries and mint leaves if you like.
Recipe Notes
I used freshly juiced apples which I think tastes best. I just spun them in my juicer, it took me 2 minutes. Also, I barely used any ginger ale. You will find that you really don’t need it. Please take caution with this drink. It sneaks up on you.
For the best result allow the berries and rum to steep for about 15 minutes.
Please enjoy responsibly.
