Mongolian Beef

This recipe is a lighter version compared to PF Chang’s famous dish. Although the calories have been cut you will not miss the flavor!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 C Soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons Beef Stock
  • 2 teaspoons Hoisin Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Rice Vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Chile paste with garlic
  • 1 T Peanut Oil
  • 1 T Fresh Ginger peeled & minced
  • 5-6 Cloves Garlic pressed
  • 1 lb Sirloin Steak thinly sliced across the grain
  • 20 medium Green Onions cut into 2-inch pieces

Instructions

  1. Mince ginger and press garlic and set aside
  2. Combine first 8 ingredients, stirring until smooth.
  3. Heat peanut oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the Beef and brown on each side, and set aside.
  5. Add minced ginger sauté for 2 minutes, add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
  6. Add green onion pieces; sauté 30 seconds. Place beef back into skillet.
  7. Add soy sauce mixture; cook 1 minute or until thickened, stirring constantly.
  8. Serve with cooked Soba or Udon Noodles.
