Yule Gift Ideas, Part 2

In continuation of this Yule gift-giving mini-series here is one of the second recipes I enjoy giving to our friends and family each year.

The trick with these gift items is to create them and package them with care. Mason jars are a get option and you can use wrapping paper and ribbon to decorate the jars. if you have a gift exchange and your budget is super tight you can make each of these recipes for under $5.00.

 

Homemade Hot Cocoa Mix

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 3 C whole milk powder 
  • 1.5 C cocoa powder dutch-process or natural unsweetened
  • 1.5 C cups finely chopped chocolate chips
  • 1/4 tsp teaspoon salt
  • Marshmallows Optional
  • Crushed Peppermint Candies Optional
  • Whipped Cream optional

Instructions

  1. Whisk together all ingredients in a large bowl.

  2. To make hot cocoa, put 1/3 cup of the cocoa mix in a mug and stir in 1 cup of hot milk Top with whipped cream or marshmallows and candies, if desired.

Recipe Notes

This makes a great gift because it can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
