Basil-Balsamic Chicken with Sautéed Green Beans
Ever hear the term, “Winner! Winner! Chicken Dinner!” Well if a phrase ever matched a specific recipe, this is it!
The chicken is so flavorful, and when you top it with the reduced Balsamic Basil sauce, it is taken to another level. Pair that with the sautéed green beans and you have a low-calorie meal everyone will enjoy.

Basil-Balsamic Chicken with Sautéed Green Beans
Ingredients
- 1 pound or more fresh green beans
- 2 teaspoon olive oil- divided
- 16 ounces mushrooms sliced
- 4 cloves garlic pressed
- 1 yellow onion sliced
- 4, 6 ounce chicken breasts boneless & skinless
- 1/4 Cup chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 Tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 2 Tablespoon fresh basil chiffonade
- Salt & Pepper to taste
Instructions
-
Season chicken breasts with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Heat 1 tsp oil over medium-high heat. Sear chicken for about 2 minutes on both sides.
-
Add Chicken broth, reduce to a simmer; cover and cook for 8-10 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.
-
While the chicken cooks, in a separate skillet, heat remaining oil on medium-low heat and sauté onions until nearly translucent. Add mushrooms and sauté about 5 minutes.
-
Add green beans and garlic to the pan; cover and cook about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and over to keep warm.
-
Meanwhile, remove the chicken from your other pan, add vinegar and allow the remaining broth to reduce by half, about 10 minutes. Next, add the basil, and heat through.
-
Remove your pan from the heat. Slice the chicken, return chicken to the pan and spoon sauce over the chicken.
-
Serve the chicken slices with green beans. Top the chicken with 1T of balsamic sauce and garnish with fresh basil.
Recipe Notes
**If your family likes things saucy, you may want to double the amount of broth and vinegar when you make this recipe.
