Welcome to Kitchen Witch Table Talks: Episode 12, Find a Teacher.
A continuation of our advice for beginner’s series.
In this episode, I discuss the value of finding a credible and experienced teacher to help you further your knowledge on this path.
I have said it many times; Witchcraft, Wicca & Paganism are intellectual paths. You must be willing to dedicate your time and efforts to knowing your craft and gaining proficiency. Skill does not come from half effort or dabbling. It comes from placing your education and competence as one of your daily priorities.
You can learn anything in 30-days. To do this, you must take time each day; whether it be 20-mins each day or 60. You must dedicate this time to researching, studying, and applying the information you learn.
If you are looking for a good teacher, you have many options to consider.
Books are a great start, but they can only take you so far.
Then there is the internet. However, I would use caution with this option. More often than not, you will run into information that has been regurgitated from one site to another without regard for truth. Much of this information does not serve you on your path and will do more harm than good.
Your next option is to find an experienced teacher who it willing to share their knowledge with you. This is often very difficult in many areas where resources are minimal to non-existent.
One of the reasons I began my non-profit organizations (The Magick Kitchen & The Leandra Witchwood Foundation) is to help dilute the pool of misleading websites and misinformation, and to offer esoteric information to seekers and students who otherwise would not have reliable resources or a pool of credible teachers to choose from. I welcome you to take this opportunity to enrich your path and learn from an experienced practitioner.
These organizations help you in many ways.
- Each site offers you reliable information gathered and tested by a witch who has been practicing for over two decades.
- While you learn in a virtual environment, you are learning from an experienced teacher who shows you how to apply the knowledge offered.
- You are able to learn at your pace that best suits your busy lifestyle and schedule.
Your support helps use create new classes and bring in additional teachers who are well versed in their path. We look to offer classes taught only by experienced Witches, Pagans, and Wiccans with years of working knowledge.
