So… I Made Moon Water. Now What?

So… I made Moon Water. Now What?

Moon, Sacred, or Holy Water is one of the many staples I keep stocked in my magickal cabinet. The moon is the symbol of the Divine Feminine and the Holy Mother Goddess. She is nurturing, bold, and unapologetic in her brilliance. She is emotion and because of this, we are deeply connected to the moon’s energy. When a full moon is building, we might feel ourselves becoming a little irrational, angry, or irritable. Our emotions are great indicators of what we should work on in our lives as we seek out balance and stability.

As we realize that the power of the moon influences our emotional energy, we also learn that it amplifies psychic and magickal dynamics. You can use the expanding energy of the moon to add a boost to your intentions as you work spells for a variety of reasons. The energy of the moon is most noticeable during the Full Moon. Most often this is when Witches utilize the moon’s magickal gifts to manifest what you need and desire most in your life.  The full moon is cyclical, its energy ebbs and flows just as we do. Through infusing water (which is also heavily influenced by the moon) we can save the energy and magickal aspects of a specific moon for a later time when we should need it.

Moon water is water that is charged by the energy of the moon. Preferably a full moon or supermoon, where the energy is heightened. You can also charge water under a lunar eclipse or another phenomenon. The moon has the power to transform and create, imagine what it can do to water. I will not go into the details of how to make Moon Water in this post, because I have already written this tutorial for you. You can find it here: Moon Water Tutorial.

In this article, I will give you some ideas of how you can use your Moon Water after it is created. For centuries, cultures around the globe have used the moon in rituals for healing, cleansing, protecting, and manifestation. When you tap into this energetic reservoir, you can influence the means to make your dreams come true. With that, here are a few ways you can use your moon water.

Cook with it! This is a favorite of Kitchen Witches. Use your moon water in some of your favorite dishes as you set your intention on manifesting, cleansing, empowering, and more. You can make soups, broth/stock, sauces, dressings… use it any recipe where you would add water. Get some recipe ideas HERE!

Brew Magickal Tea! This is my favorite use for moon water… Well besides cooking with it. Tea is a creative addition to any ritual. It can be used as your libation or as the heavyweight in any spell or energetic working. The blending of magickal tea has a power all it’s own. When you brew your magickal tea in moon water, you have taken your working to a whole new level. Then once brewed you consume your working as you fully embody the energy you summon. In essence, you make your working part of your physical self as well as your spiritual self. Pretty cool, right?

Make Magick Inks! Magickal inks are great for most intentional workings. Spells that require you to write anything on a piece of paper are best when written in magickal ink; ink specifically formulated for magickal workings. These inks can be made from a variety of natural materials including soot. You use soot from burned loose magickal incense rendered over charcoal or from your fireplace. You can also make inks from food items like cabbage, turmeric, beets, pokeberry, and SO MUCH MORE! You can read more about that here: Power Ink Recipe

Make Magickal Paper! Well, if you are writing your spell or intention on a piece of paper using a magickal ink, why not use some magickally charged paper too? You can use your moon water to recycle some old mail or scrap paper into something you can write on. Making paper is a little messy, but it is a very easy process. You only need a few tools to get started.

Make Magickal Dyes! Like making magickal ink, making magickal dyes is an excellent use of your moon water. Again, you can use natural ingredients like especially food items to create a variety of colors. Try avocado, onion peels, or berries!

Take a Magickal Bath or Herbal Soak! Ahh YEAH! It’s bath-time! Ritual bathing is an ideal way to prepare yourself energetically for the working you plan to perform. Many traditions practice ritual bathing before Sabbat celebrations, spell work, and healing ceremonies. Adding some of your moon water to your ceremonial bath you are amplifying the intention of this act.

Make Magickal Healing Lotions, Salves, Flower Essences, and more. Healing ourselves and others is what Witches do. It makes sense to add moon water to our herbal medicinal. Instead of using uncharged water in your tonics, lotions, salves, etc. substitute it with moon water to give your mixtures a healing boost.

Well, that should get you on your way! I hope these ideas have inspired you to try something magickal and new. If you are interested in attending an online ritual where I demonstrate how moon water is used in brewing magickal teas please join me May 18, 2019, at 7:00 pm EST for a live prosperity ritual.

Bright Blessings,
